As of 1927, Mr. and Mrs. Matthew Day operated a restaurant and pool room listed at 65-67 Stanton Avenue, near the Firestone plant on S. Main Street. Later, as of 1940, Matthew operated a rest and day spa at 65 Stanton Avenue. He is listed as working at Firestone. It is likely that Matthew and Agnes are the couple, and they lived at 377 W. South Street according to the 1925 Akron City Directory. They are not listed in the 1940 Akron City Directory.
