Grundy’s Ice Cream

According to the 1940 Akron Negro Directory, Charles Grundy owned and operated Grundy’s Ice Cream, 17 W. Lods Street. Grundy was active in the early 1920s in African American affairs. He sold insurance and coal in the early 1920s, and was chair of the Universal Negro Improvement Association in Akron. He passed away in 1946 at the age of 67.
